NEW U.S. AIR COMMANDER
(Rec. 2 p.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 15. The appointment of Major-General Ira C. Eaker as commander of the Eighth U.S. Army Air Force, was announced today by the United States War Department. Major-General Eaker takes the place of General Carl Spaatz, ■who has gone to North Africa as a member of the staff of the Allied Force.—B.O.W.
