MEALS FOR W.A.A.F
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Can anyone say why W.A.A.F. girls living in their own good homes and having all their meals at home should have 12s every two weeks taken off their already small wages, whether they have dinner at the hostel or not? A lot of these girls just lose that money, as they prefer still, if handy, to go home or take their lunch with them and have their big meal at night.—l am, etc., INTERESTED. It is explained at Air Headquarters that the girls are paid a living-off allowance of 3s a day, subject to Is deduction if a meal is available to them on the station. This was done to discourage the practice of many girls who went without a substantial meal on the score of economy.
