OIL FUEL OFFENCE
Remarking that in any circumstances other than those stated by counsel he would have imposed a much heavier fine Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., fined James Inla'ch. fisherman. £10 in the Magistrate's Court yesterday for using oil fuel purchased under a consumer's licence for a purpose other than that set out in his application. Counsel (Mr. E. P. Hay) said that the fuel was used exclusively for the purposes of the defendant's fishing business, although not for the specific purpose for which it was made available, and had application been made to the proper authorities there was no doubt that permission would have been granted for its diversion.
