HOSPITAL LEVIES

Notice to move the following resolution at the next meeting of the Wellington City Council has been given by Councillor J. D. Sieywright: "That the Wellington City Council takes this the earliest opportunity to commend the action of the Waikato Hospital Board in its Dominion-wide effort to enlist the support and action of all local bodies affected to obtain an alteration in the incidence of taxation by hospital boards, and thereby secure the abolition of the law that allows the Government to make tools of hospital board members to double the Social Security taxation by hospital levies —a general injustice utterly unwarranted."
