AUSTRALIAN MADE
REMARKABLE NEW TANK
(Rec. 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 2.
Australia is now mass-producing a medium cruiser tank which the Munitions Ministry experts say is equal to any in the world. The armament and performance of the tank have not been disclosed, but it is claimed to be the woi'ld'st fastest1 for its weight, and to have a greater range of action than the British or American cruiser tanks. It is the first in the world to have a completely armoured steel hull cast as one unit and to be powered by multiple petrol engines. The tank has one of the lowest silhouettes, giving minimum exposure to enemy fire, arid the ground pressure of its tracks is no greater per square inch than that' of an average man. Except for American-made engines the tank is a completely Australian product.
