BUSY OVER ITALY

ft - l :; '.:LOND.ON, January 29. Fighter-bombers and night fighters based on Malta have been keeping up their attacks on rail communications in Sicily and southern Italy. In the last three days they have shot up 26 Italian planes and in a week have destroyed' or damaged 23 railway engines. Malta aircraft have also been shooting up enemy coastal shipping and attacking road convoys. One night a fighter pilot found a convoy of 80 vehicles in Sicily; with its headlights on. They did not stay on long. He swept the whole length of the convoy with cannon fire. • All our aircraft returned. ■
