ITALIAN AIR DEFENCE BILL
LONDON, January 23. The Rome radio has announced that a meeting of the Italian Cabinet, over which Signor Mussolini presided, approved a Bill providing for special defence measures against air attack in certain localities. The Cabinet also approved the Budget for 1943-44, providing for an expenditure of £480,000,000, entailing a deficit of £70,000,000.
Permission was given' by the City Council today for the use of Athletic Park on Sunday next for a baseball match in aid of patriotic funds, and for the sale of tickets on the street. Permission was also given for a Sunday evening concert on February 7 by Mr. Ignaz Friedman.
