ENEMY DESTROYERS BOMBED

TWO SHIPS SMASHED?

LONDON, January 3. United States dive-bombers in the Solomons yesterday attacked some Japanese destroyers off the New Georgia group of islands. One destroyer was set on lire and another is listed as probably sunk. Earlier yesterday American medium bombers with fighter escort made another attack on the Munda airfield on New Georgia. On Guadalcanal, American patrol activity continues. Japanese artillery again shelled American positions.
