NOW IN MANCHURIA

HUGE ENEMY FORCE

(Rec. 11.30 a.m.)

CHUNGKING, Dec. 14. A million Japanese troops; are now concentrated in Manchuria, where the Japanese military pre- - parations have increased considerably, says an official Chinese review. The Japanese have built fortifications along the southern bank of the Amur River and on

the western bank of the Ussuri

The review says that Chinese conscripts, who worked on Japanese military installations, were afterwards killed to prevent any leakage of information. Chinese youths are also being forced into military service, ostensibly in the armies of the puppet regimes, but actually two-thirds of these conscripts are used for garrison duty. Some have been sent to the South-west Pacific.
