LONDON, • December 13,

Yesterday 18 German fighters were destroyed when a large force of American heavy bombers, escorted by 300 British fighters, made a heavy attack on German-occupied territory in Europe.

The main target was Rouen. Two American bombers and four British fighters were lost. The enemy lost two other fighters over Holland, making 20 for the day. Vichy radio says that planes, believed to be British, were over Annency, in Haute-Savoie, on Thursday night. Flares and bombs were dropped. Three people were killed and five injured. The Swiss radio says that planes of unknown nationality on Friday night dropped incendiaries at Aargau, in northern Switzerland, and also at Ofoerwald, where some damage was caused. - .
