JEWISH SYMPATHY FOR THE PERSECUTED
LONDON, December 13. Jews throughout Britain will fast today for the persecuted Jews in Poland. Synagogues are holding special services. Jewish traders in Petticoat Lane will cease business for five minutes' silence.
The executive members of the International Federation of Trades Unions. at present in London, adopted a resolution protesting against the German extermination of the' Jews and demanding punishment for the criminals. The resolution added: "The federation has so far refused to believe that German trade unionists have tolerated this savagery, but as there is no sign of German workers actively resisting, it will be impossible to acquit them of responsibility for these horrors." The Free Austria movement in London declared that liberated Austria would not leave unavenged a single Jewish life destroyed in cold blood. No person sharing in the slaughter in any capacity would escape punishment.
