INCREASES IN ARMY PAY?
Though no official information was available today, it is reported that certain increases of pay for the Army have been decided upon. These are said to involve placing home-based defence forces on the overseas rates of pay, which will bring a private's pay, to 7s 6d a day; an increase in the subsistence allowance of Is a day; and an additional Is a day for troops stationed away from their home town.
