PATROL ACTIVITY
CLASHES IN BURMA
LONOOON, November 3. Several clashes with Japanese patrols >!have been reported from the Burma frontie/r. A New Delhi communique? says/ that now the rains have stopped 'patrol activity on both sides is incre&sin/;. Japanese, and small bands «of • Burmese under Japanese directioin,-have been trying to push out partiefs on the fringes of our forward pbtyql area. Their' qfbject is to terrorise the local population, to get information, and to restric/t fhe activity of our own patrols. One 'payty clashed with the Japanese on tl^b pastern fringe of the Chin Hills in tl/e rwest of Upper Burma. . There werfc casualties to the enemy but no losrjss in our party. There was similar activity in what has been the no mim's land between Akyab and the Indian border. Casualties were indicted on the Japanese without losses to ourselves. f The R.A.F/. has continued to attack enemy aerjodromes and communications. /
