TUBELESS MOTOR TYRES
NEW YORK, October 22. Initial experiments with the tubeless automobile tyres have proved successful in Washington, where an official car was operated for 35Q miles with tyres mounted directly, on the rims. The fitting was made airtight with puncture-proof liquid and the tyre inflated through a metal valve where ■ the tube-valve normally .appears. The experiment was instigated by Senator Thomas, who declared that 150 cars ; are operating in Tulsa, Oklahoma, [without tubes. -
