PACIFIC WAR COUNCILS MEET
LONDON, October 21
Mr. Churchill presided over a meeting of the Pacific War Council, which was attended by General Smuts (South Africa), Mr. Jordan (New Zealand), Mr. Bruce (Australia), Mr. Massey (Canada), Mr. Attlee, Dominion Secretary, and Mr. Amery, Secretary for India. After a meeting of the Pacific War Council in Washington, the British member, Lord Halifax, said that President Roosevelt gave the Council a full and factual review and analysis of the situation in the Solomons, and also surveyed war production in September and October, which was promising and encouraging. Lord Halifax added .that many developments were occurring.
Mr. Walter Nash (New Zealand) said there was nothing to add to the Press reports on the Solomons battle. Figures concerning production were.the most promising thing studied by the meeting.
