SURPRISE FOR SENTRY
(Rec. 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 5. A sentry at a north Queensland aerodrome could hardly believe his eyes when he saw a private sbldier mingling freely with high ranking officers. He was- advancing to put ■ the private in his proper place when he suddenly recognised the culprit as the Australian Army Minister, Mr. F. M. Forde. . Holding no military rank. Mr.' Forde travelled to New Guinea in a private soldier's uniform in order to avoid exciting speculation which would naturally have been aroused by a visitor to the battle area in civilian clothes.
