The British forces in Madagascar advancing south from Antananarivo have occupied Antsirabe. They were received enthusiastically by the populace.

The General Officer Commanding in East Africa states: "Our troops have continued to advance southward from Antananarivo against the French forces which withdrew to the southern part of Madagascar. After some opposition, the French position at the Sambaine railway station was captured."—B.O.W.
