Mrs. A. J. Dickinson, diet supervisor at the Auckland Hospital whose resignation has recently been accepted by the Auckland Hospital Board, has received advice that her husband, who is in the Merchant Navy, is appointed to a position in Wellington. Lady Batterbee left Wellington last week for a visit to Christchurch. Sir Charles and Lady Statham, Park Street, arrived in Dunedin on Thursday. News has been received from Cairo of the engagement of Major John Arthur Bretherton, New Zealand Artillery, elder son of Mr. A- C. and Mrs. Bretherton, of Fendalton, Christchurch, to Staff-Nurse M. Paull, of the South African nursing staff, daughter of Mr. J. and Mrs. Paull, of Henley-on-Klip, Johannesburg.
