ONE WEEK OF RESPITE

LONDON, September 14. The people of Bremen heard the roar of R.A.F. bombers, and the shattering explosions of 40001b bombs again last night. The raiding force which attacked ithis German port, second only to Hamburg in importance, is officially described as a very strong one. Only a week ago, Bremen, with its U-boat building yards and aircraft factories, was badly blitzed by hundreds of Stirling. Halifax, and Lancaster bombers. That raid was described as one of the fiercest of the war. Last night's big raid was the hundredth on Bremen by the R.A:F. arid the seventh so far this month against Germany. ! Other R.A.F. bombers attacked other targets in north-west Germany, ..and. later, at dawn, single bombers-returned-to the scene to drop yet more bombs.Fighter, planes carried out intruder patrols over northern France and Hoi-, land. All these operations cost 10 planes.
