JUNIOR AS AGENT

MAYOR'S CAMPAIGN AGAINST

BOOKMAKERS

(Rec. 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 13.

The "New York Herald Tribune" says that the Mayor, Mr. La Guardia, broadcast an appeal to little boys to report to him any time they catch their fathers being cleaned out by gamblers. "If the family happiness is being destroyed because some thieving tinhorn is robbing daddy's money on horse races or gambling, let me know," he said, "and I will send the police. The bookmaker is only a common thief, working for the so-called big-shot gambler, and we will get after him, too."
