YOUTH DEAD UNDER HORSE
(P.A.) WAIROA, This Day. The body of a youth, Peter Baker, who had been missing since Saturday, was found in a creek at the Tukemokihi Station this morning. Indications point to horse and rider having fallen over the bank into the stream, the body being underneath the animal, which was also dead. * review all goods consignments made prior to the latest restrictions. (P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. There were long queues at the Auckland Railway booking offices today of people applying for permits to travel beyond the 50-mile limit imposed owing to the Waikato mines strike.
MAIL ARRANGEMENTS
With the curtailment of the railway services, there will inevitably be a delay in the mail services. Postal officials stated today that mails would be sent by whatever trains were running: more than that could not be done. Knocked down by a tram in Courtenay Place at about 5 p.m. yesterday, Ronald Moran, a schoolboy, who lives at the Hotel Lloyds. Cuba Street, suffered shock and slight concussion, and was taken to hospital by the Free Anfbulance.
