RECRUIT FOR FIGHTING FRANCE

(Rec. 12 noon.) RUGBY, August 18,

M. Felix Gouin, vice-president of the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Chamber*of Deputies and Deputy tor Bouches Du Rhone, has reached England from France. He was one of 80 Deputies who vgted against the overthrow of the French Republic in July, 1940, and one of three, lawyers who defended M. Leon Blum at the Riom trial. He last saw M. Blum in prison three months ago. M. Gouin has taken an active part in hostility lo the Vichy Government. He has come to England to give General De Gaulle a full account of the trend of opinion in France and place his services at the disposal of the French National Committee. —B:O.W.
