NEW CONVOY BATTLE

LONDON, August 13. The enemy radio says that attacks are still continuing on a British convoy on its way to Malta from the western Mediterranean. Presumably the aircraft-carrier Eagle was stink in the course of these operations.
The Germans and Italians say that attacks, have been going on since dawn on Tuesday on a heavily-escorted British convoy bound from Gibraltar to Malta. •" •-,-•.;
Berlin and Rome, in special: announcements, have made big claims about British losses. They saj* the convoy is escorted by battleships, carriers, cruisers, and destroyers, and claim that both warships and merchant ships have been hit These claims are regarded as no more accurate than usual, though there is no' doubt that there have been losses on both sides. '
No statement has been issued in London. The policy is to issue no information until the operations are concluded*
