CHINESE CONFERENCE

A meeting of welcome to the delegates to the New Zealand Chinese Association annual conference was held yesterday afternoon in the association's hall, Wellington. There were present members oi" the Chinese Consulate-General, Mr. Feng Wang (Consul-General), Mr. Yue H. Jackson (Consul), Mr. T. T. Sze (Consul), Mr. S. C. Lai (Vice-Con-sul), and delegates from branches all over New Zealand. Mr. William Wah. representing the national executive, presided : When welcoming the delegates, Mr Feng Wang' \emphasised how the Chinese community could redouble their efforts in helping to strengthen their mother country's power of resistance against aggression. He also suggested means whereby they could take advantage of the present circumstances to foster a better understanding between New Zealanders and Chinese, and how they could contribute their share towards New Zealand's war effort. . /
