. < + A.conference on Wednesday, night, attended by between 45 and 50 representatives from defence building jobs and union executives, convened by the Wellington Building Trades Federation, unanimously endorsed a programme for the establishment of job and production committees oh all building projects in the Wellington district. The resolution states: Joint workermanagement production committees would enable the workers to fulfil a very important part in securing that increase in production which must be obtained if Fascism is to be defeated. Such committees would give scope to, and enable the release of .workers' initiative . and ensure that the- best and fullest use >is made of < manpower and . materials.- ?■•■ r.\vr\i y: •:■'.'- .■•■*■"; ■?*■' ■'" The statement points out that the last Federation of Labour Conference fully endorsed this policy of establishment of production committees. Arrangements were made to hold a further conference a month hence to review the progress of the movement.
