Martin, a well-rknown passenger vessel captain in the transPacific and trans-Tasman trade, has retired after about 45 years at sea and is now living in Sydney. He held com^ mand at various times of the Moeraki, Maheno, Maunganui, Marama, Tahiti, Makura, Monowai, Aorangi, Niagara, and Awatea.
