EIGHT NAZI SABOTEURS

WASHINGTON/ August l; The Supreme Court of the United States has denied the petitions for a writ of habeas corpus made on behalf of-4he eight Na2is who entered the United States from a U-boat and are accused of being saboteurs, The effect Of the ruling is to uphold the validity of the trial before a military commission, and also the order of President Roosevelt creating the commission. The trial of the eight Nazi saboteurs ended after 18 days. The military commission has begun consideration of the recommendations it will make to President Roosevelt, who will then decide the Germans' fate. Complete silence will be preserved on the decision till the White House has issued a. statement. . Should the men suffer execution, it is very likely that the news will not be released till after* the event. It is commonly believed here . that death will be prescribed for all, possibly excepting George Dasch, who aided the Government in the trial. He is likely to receive a severe prison sentence.
