SINKING OF RIO TERCERO

BUENOS AIRES, July 7

The Foreign Minister, Dr. RuizGuinazu, announced that Germany has admitted the sinking of the Argentine freighter Rio Tercero on June 22. Germany expressed deep regret and promised a full indemnity because of the friendly relations existing between Germany and Argentina.

It was explained that the U-boat commander was unable to recognise the Argentine identification marks on the vessel.
