IF TELEPHONES BREAK DOWN

Fire call points in Wellington, to be used for • communicating with brigade headquarters when telephones are inoperative or messages cannot be passed immediately to a warden, are now announced by the Fire '■ Protection Organiser, Mr. V. E. Hampson-Tindale, as follows:—

Upper Willis Street; Mac Duffs, Ltd., warehouse. Dixon Street; National Bank Building, corner Cuba and Vivian Streets; Wakefield Chambers, corner Wakefield and Taranaki Streets; Land and Income Tax Department, Courtenay Place; War Memorial Building or Carillon. Buckle Street; Onslow House, 98 The Terrace; Donbank, corner Dixon Street and The Terrace; Marlborough House, 21 Kent Terrace; Dominion Hotel, corner Tory and Lome Streets; Balmoral Hotel, Courtenay Place; Salvation Army, corner Vivian and Tory Streets; Kensington Hotel, Mansfield Street; 162 Russell Terrace, 142 Owen Street, 92 Kauri Street, 390 Broadway, 30' Tinakori Road, Western Park Hotel.
