Sweden, "as the main European country where democracy survives," wa» tbafcted by members of the Auckland Consulates today on the occasion of Sweden's national day, celebrating the eighty-fourth birthday of King Gustav. The Vice-Consul, Mr. C. M. Richwhite, said that Sweden was determined to preserve her independence in the face of the difficulties besetting her.
