SOCKS FOR HOME GUARDS
(To the editor.) . Sir, —Through' the columns of the | "Evening Post," may several Home Guardsmen suggest to the authorities that thick woollen socks be made available to all ranks without presenting the M coupons. The strenu- ; ous infantry training that we carry out ! wears holes in socks very quickly. Heavy Army boots aggravate the I trouble. Except for the uniform and boots, Home Guardsmen provide all clothing themselves and receive no: pay whatsoever for the training that they carry out during weekends and holidays. Is it a--fair thing?-—We are, etc., ' TRAINEES.
