INCREASE OF PAY
(Rec. 2.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 12,
The House today, on a tentative voice vote, adopted by 102 to 40 an amendment to raise the pay of enlisted men for the army, marine privates, and apprentice seamen to 50 dollars a month, and for first-class privates and second-class seamen to 54 dollars a month.
