TWO GERMAN GENERALS
ARRIVAL IN LIBYA
(Rec. 12.40 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. J It is confirmed in London that the German Generals Nehring and Bismarck have arrived in Libya. General Nehring had a command in Russia, and the Russians captured documents signed by him stating that no Russian prisoners would be taken. The arrival oi the generals in Libya does not suggest that any important reinforcements have recently reached the Axis forces there. The generals are probably from armoured divisions. (Rec. 1 p.m.) RUGBY, May 4. .A Middle East communique states that some small groups of enemy vehicles and enemy working parties were dispersed by artillery fire.from some of our columns. Shipping in Benghazi Harbour was raided on Saturday night. Other aircraft were active over the Derna, Mekili, arid Martuba regions. Yesterday's enemy raids on Malta were on a smaller ■ scale than usual. One enemy fighter war destroyed and another was damaged. Civilian damage was slight, and casualties were few—B.O.W.
