LESS ACTIVITY
RECENT ALERTS
RUGBY, April 16. Once again, probably as a result of cloudy weather, air activity over Malta on Wednesday was on a very reduced scale. Five alerts sounded on Tuesday night, asid a number of enemy planes approached the island, but only a few crossed over. The majority of their bombs fell into the sea, while those that were dropped on land were on scattered localities. Enemy activity on Wednesday was: negligible. One Messerschmitt 109 dropped bombs on an aerodrome, afterwards making a machine-gun attack. It is confirmed that the Junkers which was reported on Tuesday to have been damaged was destroyed, and it is also known that an R.A.F. fighter on Tuesday destroyed two bombers.—B.O.W.
