ENLISTING WOMEN FOR WAR WORK

(Rec. 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 15. The War Department announced that women would be recruited for the civilian ranks and Army Signal Corps to help to meet the urgent need for engineers and technicians. This will apply particularly to women who are skilled in radio engineering and electronics. The House Naval Committee approved a measure to increase the Women's Auxiliary Reserve in the Navy to relieve men for sea-going duty. Enlistment will be voluntary, and the age of admission will be 20.
