DRUNK IN CHARGE

Pleading guilty to a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motorvan, Henry Elsmore, baker, of Petone, appeared before Mr. A. M. Goulding. S.M., in the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court yesterday. It was explained by Senior Sergeant H. C. D. Wade that Elsmore had been working very long hours and that he had been taking liquor to keep himself going.

As the accused's lorry was essential to his'business the Magistrate said he would not suspend his driving licence. In consideration of the accused's taking out a prohibition order against himself a fine of £15 was imposed and payment of the medical fee ordered.
