TITAHI GOLF CLUB
The annual meeting of the Titahi ;"Golf, Club was held recently. Mr. .E. Johnstoa presided over an attendance of 50 members.'Although the membership had declined owing^ to enlistments in the Armed Forces and to' the petrol restrictions, said Mr. Johnston,", the club,- through the generous attitude of Messrs.Ongley and Middlet regarding Its tenure' ofj the course, will be able to carry on In the;' coming season. Opening day for the winters season was fixed for. Sunday, March 15. - The election of officers was as follows:—* President. Mr. Eric ■ Johnston ; vice-presidents,! Messrs. Stanley Gyles and J. Tunnington JJ captain, Mr. Harold Murphy; committeej Messrs. W. H. Nankervis. C. Haywood. A. Hut-J chinson. G. McPhun, J. Hughes, and B. Murga-'. troyd: hon. secretary, "Mr. A. Cox; treasurer^ Mr. W. Oxenham; auditor, Mr. D. A. Crombie.} The meeting concluded witii a vote of thanlm, to Mr. P. W. Maddock for his past services asclub captain.
