STRATEGIC SITUATION
STUDY IN AUSTRALIA
SYDNEY, February 25
Mr. J. Curtin, moving in the House of Representatives today that the House adjourn till March 5, said that the whole strategic problem required urgent consideration in conjunction with representatives of New Zealand and the other united nations. The motion was agreed to.
Mr. Curtin announced that Mr. J. Scullin, former Labour Prime Minister, whose health had greatly improved, had undertaken to give him assistance in the strenuous tasks ahead.
The Prune Minister also announced the appointment of Sir Harold Clapp, former Victorian Railways Traffic Manager, as Director-General of Land Transport.
The Premier of South Australia today announced that all racing and betting is to cease after next Saturday throughout South Australia.
