IN THE HUTT VALLEY
SATISFACTORY RESULT
Reports from the various districts in the Hutt Valley are most satisfactory-
Mr. E. F. Hollands, lighting controller of that area, states that he viewed the valley from several points, and while for the first few minutes there were here and there glimmers of light these quickly disappeared as the wardens got to work. The only public lights visible were railway lights; which must be kept going to cope with traffic. Mr. Hollands states that the trial was a great improvement on previous trials and well worth while, but it would have been more effective if held on a moonless night.
One offender was noticed in a large Petone building which will be the subject of an investigation when the wardens' reports are considered.
