POLICE BROUGHT BACK TO
SYDNEY

SYDNEY, Feb. 24
The Premier of New South Wales (Mr. W. J. McKell) has taken over the Ministerial control of the Police Department and has directed the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mackay, to bring back to Sydney 17 members of the Police Association who were transferred to the country. On their return an inquiry will be held into their conduct as police officers and into the circumstances of their transfer.
A previous message said that 17 officers of the Police Association, including the president, vice-president, and executive, had been transferred from Sydney to widely-scattered posts in the country.
