AUSTRALIAN SCHEME

(Rec. 9 a.m.) CANBERRA, Feb. 23,

Australia's greatest insurance plak. covering war damage, which came into operation today with the gazetting of regulations under the National Security Act, covers ' all property in the Australian territories against air raids, enemy land attaclts, or damage resulting from the scorched earth policy.

The compulsory, insurance classes include buildings at 4s per cent, stock and plant at Bs, and wool, in store at 2s 6d per cent. The voluntary classes include stock and plant at 8s per cent., personal chattels, including furniture, clothing, and motor-cars, at 8s per cent., livestock, farm improvements, and growing crops at 4s, and fruit trees and vines at 8s per cent.
