AIRLINER CRASHES

NINE PERSONS KILLED NEAR

BRISBANE

BRISBANE, February 21.

Nine people, including the pilot arid co-pilot, were killed when a Qantas airliner crashed at Belmont, near Brisbane today.

The plane, which was engaged in the regular air service between Brisbane and Longreach, via Roma, crashed shortly after taking oft for the outward ,joux*ney. All were apparently killed outright. Most of the passengers were Queensland graziers and managers of large cattle ranches.
