INCREASED POWER DEMAND

The consumption of electricity in the area controlled by the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board continues to grow rapidly. During the nine months ended on January 31, the board's revenue was £142,812 10s 3d, as against £134,114 17s 7d for the same period in 1940-41. Owing to war conditions commercial and public lighting returned a smaller revenue. The units purchased by the board during the last nine months were 5,425,300, an .increase of 666,100 units over the same' period last year.
