PUBLIC NOTICE

1. Pursuant to the Lighting Restrictions Emergency Regulations 1941, Amendm,enl;J'lo. 1 and other Amendments and by virtue of the authority of the Dominion Lighting Controller delegated to us pursuant to the said regulations, We, the undersigned, do: hereby givePublit Notice and Order that a blackout trial of all lights other than those specifically exempted by the Regulations. throughout the areas of Wellington City, Lower Hutt City, Fetone Borough, Eastbourne Borough, Johnsonville Town Board, Upper Hutt Borough, Makara County, and all Hutt County excluding that portion north of Paekakariki township and excluding Whareroa Biding will be held on Monday, the 23rd February/1942, for an undisclosed penod b«rtwea» sunset and midnight and during that period and for the purpose? of the Trial the conditiona of a "period of emergency" will apply. 2. We hereby give further Public Notice that sound signals will be given on various device* to indicate the beginning and ending of the emergency .period as follows: — (a) The "Alarm" a succession of "blasts of ten seconds' duration each, followed by a tall for fjve seconds, the total period of the signal lasting two minutes, t,,«,« 0c v* (b) The "All Clear" a continuous blast of two minutes' duration on sirens, whistles, or ringing of bells. . ... 3.
