NEW ZEALAND NAVY

OFFICERS FOR LONG SERVICE

The number of candidates to be entered as officers in the Royal New Zealand Navy for long service was announced today by the Minister of De-| fence (Mr. Jones) as follows:—Cadets (age between 17 years and 18 years and 8 months on December 31, 1942), 2; cadets (E) (age between 17 years and 19 years on December 31, 1942), 2. The Minister emphasised that the announcement referred solely to candidates who wished to make the Royal New Zealand Navy their career hrlife, and had nothing to do with service for the duration of the war only. A copy jf the regulations for entry of officers can be obtained from the Naval Secretary, Navy Office, Wellington. Applications must reach the Naval Secretary by June 1 next.
