LONDON, February 16----"The fall of Singapore arid the escape Of the German warships have given a sharper edge to disappointment arid anxiety which the course of the war in the Pacific has arousbd albrig the Whole Allied front," declares "The Times" in an editorial. The editorial adds: "Some criticisms j are misplaced, but their Whbie purpose is to stimulate a greater arid better co-ordinated effort that can only be welcomed by the Administration as reinforcing its authority to subordinate every other interest arid consideration to the primary purpose of winning the war. "The spirit of the British people i_ demanding that the Government match, its own determination arid express it in an unending and ruthless search for efficiency, without regard for things or persons."
