MEETINGS" OF COUNCIL

MR. JORDAN TO ATTEND

A statement dealing with meetings of the Far Eastern Council in London and New Zealand's representation on the Council was made in the House of Representatives this afternoon by the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser). "The first meeting of the Far Eastern Council is to take place in London today," said Mr. Fraser. "The Council, which is responsible for coordinating the views of the Governments concerned on the higher direction of the war in the Pacific, consists of representatives of the United Kingdom,- the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. : ! "Pending the appointment of a New Zealand Ministerial representative on the Council, these meetings will be attended by the New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr. Jordan."
