IN DUTCH BORNEO

PONTIANAK OCCUPIED

LONDON, February 2. In Dutch Borneo the Japanese have occupied Pontianak, the capital.

The Batavia communique says that this occupation can be assumed from various unconfirmed reports.

It was earlier stated that the Dutch forces had destroyed everything of value in the district.

Guerrilla forces are still in action around Manahassa, at the northern tip of the island of Celebes.
