PILOT OFFICER'S DEATH

The death of Pilot Officer Robert S. Chisholm, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Chisholm, of Wellington, is now officially presumed by the Air Ministry -to have taken place on air operations. Before he left New Zealand at Easter, 1940, to join the Volunteer Reserve of the Royal Air Force, he was an enthusiastic hockey

player, originally in Wellington and later when on temporary transfer to other districts as relieving manager for Messrs. J. R. McKenzie, Ltd. He represented both Wanganui and Invercargill against the touring Indian hockey team. In England last season he organised and captained an Air Force team from his station which defeated every other team in the district including the County side.
