WAR RISK INCREASED

(Rec. 9.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 26. War risk insurance rates have been raised from 4 per cent, to 7k per cent, for Australian and New Zealand shipments via the Panama Canal and across the Pacific. I The rates for cargoes travelling across the Atlantic and around the Cape of Good Hope remain at 5 per cent. The increase is attributed to the heightened Japanese military and naval activity near Australia.
